Jump and Jog pre-school classes

Clamber Club Jump and Jog!
The Clamber Club `Jump and Jog’ programme runs during school time
or as an extra mural activity, and is aimed at the 2-4 year old age group.

What is the course about?
Our dynamic gross motor programme includes a wide range of activities using an
American gym parachute, imported domes, animal bean bags, rubber monkeys, balance
beams, a hamster wheel, hoops, elastics, balls and MUCH more! We boogy to the
Clamber Club action songs and exercise with Jog the Frog our fitness mascot.

What skills does it develop?
The course was developed by occupational therapist Liz Senior,
and covers a variety of skills, some of these being:

  • Perceptual motor skills such as body awareness,
spatial skills, motor planning, eye hand and eye
    foot co-ordination.
  • Concepts such as number, colour and size.
  • Listening skills such as auditory discrimination
    and auditory sequencing.
  • Creative movement and use of the imagination.
  • Body fitness and muscle strength.

What do we do?

  • We run exciting, fun filled exercise classes on a
    weekly basis.
  • We go to schools with our wonderful set of unique
equipment, music and of course Jog the Frog.
  • We take a maximum of 10 children per class to ensure
that a quality class is run, and that each child gets individual
    attention.
  • Classes run for 30 minutes for the 2 year olds, and 45 minutes for the
    3 and 4 year olds.
  • Coaches are carefully selected and well trained. All have to write a test and do practical examinations before running classes.
